This policy explains what NookPalace collects when you visit or buy from this store, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Last updated 30 August 2026.

Who we are

NookPalace sells wrought-iron shelf lanterns online. You can reach us at nookpalace@gmail.com about anything in this policy.

What we collect

• Order information. Your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number if you give it, and what you bought. We need this to send you a lantern.
• Payment information. Handled by our payment processor. Your full card number never reaches us and we never store it.
• Device information. Your browser, IP address, time zone, and which pages you looked at. This arrives through cookies and similar technologies.
• Communications. Emails you send us, and your email address if you sign up for our list.

Why we use it

• To take payment, fulfil your order and send you tracking.
• To answer your emails and handle returns.
• To screen orders for fraud.
• To send marketing email, but only if you asked for it. Every email has an unsubscribe link that works.
• To understand which pages and adverts are working, in aggregate.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary, and never sell your personal information.

• Shopify, which runs this store.
• Our payment processor, to take payment.
• Our manufacturing and fulfilment partner in Guangdong, China, which receives your name and shipping address in order to post your parcel.
• Carriers, to deliver it.
• Analytics and advertising providers, which may receive device and browsing information.
• Authorities, where the law requires it.

International transfers

Because our fulfilment partner is in China and our store is hosted in the United States, your information is transferred outside your country of residence, including outside the EEA and the UK. We rely on standard contractual protections for those transfers.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting and tax, normally seven years. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. Email nookpalace@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your basket working, to remember you between pages, and to measure traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the basket will stop working properly if you block the essential ones.

Children

This store is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant we will say so on the site.
